Charting Our Course: Why Industry Shows Are Worth the Voyage
October 2025
At Buccaneer, we believe that face-to-face time is invaluable. That’s why we’re heading out on the road to attend a series of carefully chosen events across the UK. These aren’t just days out of the office; they’re strategic opportunities to meet with customers, collaborate with suppliers and engage with new prospects in the industries we serve.
Our whole business has been built on a people-first basis. Our customers know they can pick up the phone or pop into the shop and talk to a real human – a person with experience and expertise and great advice to share. No need to buy something ‘off the shelf’ and not really know if it is fit for purpose or worth the money or the best thing for the job.
Getting out on the road allows us to bring that personal touch to more people. Each appearance is part of a targeted approach to growing our business, building relationships and keeping our finger on the pulse of marine and offshore innovation.
Why Trade Shows Still Matter
Is it still worth attending in person when so much business happens online? For us, the answer is a definite yes. Here’s why:
Strengthening Relationships
Real conversations build real trust. Whether it's reconnecting with long-term clients, getting to know suppliers better, trade shows allow us to build stronger partnerships.
Connecting With New Prospects
Having a good old chat with someone you’ve never met before at a show can turn into a long-term working relationship. These events are perfect for opening doors and finding new ways to collaborate.
Strategic Visibility
We don’t take a scattergun approach to marketing. These events are selected to match our business focus – showing the right people that we’re serious about what we do and where we’re going.
Showcasing Solutions in Person
When you can demo a product or piece of equipment live, it speaks volumes. Potential customers can see the quality, ask questions and imagine how it would work for them in their own scenarios.
Exploring Innovation
The marine and offshore sectors are evolving fast. At events like Oceanology and Ocean Business, we get hands-on with the latest technology and bring those insights straight back to our customers.
Learning and Inspiration
From keynote talks to technical seminars, trade shows often offer fantastic learning opportunities. We always come away with ideas, insights and a renewed sense of purpose. (And then it’s about finding time to implement all those new ideas!)
Where to Find Us in 2026–2027
Here's where Buccaneer will be making an appearance – whether we’re exhibiting, visiting or sharing a stand with a trusted supplier:
Oceanology International | 10–12 March 2026 | London | Stand H30

A flagship event in the ocean science calendar – great for engaging with subsea, defence and research professionals.
The BizX 2026 | 15–17 April 2026 | ICC Wales
A business networking event packed with new ideas, strategy and leadership thinking – we always find value in being here. Attending BizX offers a fantastic opportunity to sharpen business strategies and get inspired by some of the brightest minds in entrepreneurship. We go there with our fabulous business coach, ActionCOACH Brenda Hector.
Scottish Traditional Boat Festival | 12–14 June 2026 | Portsoy, Aberdeenshire
A fun, family-friendly celebration of Scotland’s maritime heritage and a great way to show our support for coastal communities. We love connecting with locals and showcasing our passion for marine innovation.
Aquaculture UK 2026 | 16–17 June 2026 | Glasgow
- Sharing a stand with Outland Technology & Rim Drive
- Showcasing our ROV range and electric drives
A key biennial event for underwater inspection and sustainable fish farming – growing sectors we’re excited to support – and it’s not even too far away from us in 2026, just ‘down the road’ in Glasgow!
Ocean Business 2027 | 6–8 April 2027 | NOC Southampton
- Sharing a stand with Outland Technology
- Showcasing our ROV range
Another biennial event, with hands-on demos and practical training, this show is where serious marine innovation meets real-world application.
Tips for Getting the Most Out of a Marine Show
Whether you're an exhibitor or a first-time visitor, here are a few tips we’ve learned along the way:
- Plan ahead – look at the exhibitor list, seminar schedule and floor plan in advance. Make a shortlist of who you want to meet and what you want to learn.
- Be open to conversations – some of our best connections started from casual chats. Don’t underestimate the power of small talk.
- Bring business cards – old-school? Maybe. Still effective? Absolutely.
- Wear comfortable shoes – you’ll be on your feet more than you think, especially at the bigger venues.
- Take notes – jot down names, follow-up tasks or product ideas while they’re fresh, it’s easy to forget later.
- Follow up after the show – don’t let those new connections go cold. A quick email or LinkedIn message goes a long way.
Let’s Connect
Each event is a stepping stone – not just for us, but for our customers and partners too. We’re there to learn, share and grow.
We always look forward to catching up with familiar faces, chatting with new ones and getting stuck into the buzz of a busy show floor. And we won’t say no to a decent coffee and a bacon bap to kick things off on day one either!
