This Lithium-ion Battery (22.2V, 28Ah), fondly known amongst our team as the MEGA BATTERY, is designed for use in subsea vehicles powered by the T500 Thruster. It fits in our 4″ Series watertight enclosures and has enough power output and capacity for serious ROVs, USVs, and other vehicles! It has a QS8-S connector as well as an adapter for XT90S connections. Not compatible with the BlueROV2!

Product Description

The Lithium-ion Battery (22.2V, 28Ah) is a high-capacity battery pack made from high-quality Samsung 40T cells. We designed this battery specifically for use on vehicles powered by the T500 Thruster. It fits in our 4″ Series watertight enclosure and is equipped with a QS8-S connector that can handle the 110A continuous discharge rating.

This battery does not include an internal battery management system (BMS) to prevent over discharge. The battery voltage must be monitored to prevent discharging below the minimum safe voltage level.

The battery can be charged with any lithium-ion compatible balance charger such as the one we sell.

It comes with a QS8-S to XT90 adapter to connect to the charger and also for use in low discharge rate applications.

The Samsung 40T lithium-ion cells used in this battery have excellent performance characteristics, as well as a high tolerance for accidental mishandling. The battery is CE (Conformité Européenne) approved, ROHS compliant, and UN38.3 certified. Certificates can be provided upon request.

This battery is not compatible with the BlueROV2 but it can be used with the BlueBoat. If using on the BlueBoat, make sure to get the 6S Battery Splitter Cable (splitter-cable-VP) and follow this installation guide to set the correct settings.

The especially high capacity of this battery means that it is subject to more stringent shipping regulations than our other products. In addition to a hazardous goods shipping surcharge, we are also only able to ship this battery within the UK - please remember to add shipping within UK surcharge at point of adding to shopping cart unless you intend to collect from Macduff.
